Accessories with Accessorize

Tuesday, 23 October 2018

What is an outfit without accessories? My answer to that is INCOMPLETE. Accessories have the ability to transform an outfit instantly, and are essential items that can take you through many fashion seasons. In this blogpost I have partnered with Accessorize to show you some of my favourite trends this autumn, and how I have styled them.

It’s no secret that I am a lover of all things colour, so although summer has come to pass I have no intention of letting go of the vibrant colours associated with the season! I feel like bold brights have a strong ability to affect one’s mood and being that London is usually dull and grey, I have chosen to wear brighter outfits, not only to uplift my mood but those around me too! That’s why I am totally here for the statement scarf trend.

That being said, these oversized bright chunky scarves are the perfect accessory to help transition into the colder season whilst holding on to the colours from summer. The oversized design leaves you feeling snug and the pop of colour can instantly transform the simplest outfit into a more interesting one.

That’s what I have done with this outfit. Not only does this super fluffy purple scarf add character to my look, it is super comfortable and cosy! It is also guaranteed to serve its purpose of shielding you from the harsh British weather.

Pink Stripes

Sunday, 30 July 2017

There is always room for improvement so I can't afford to be complacent. I am forever trying to find new was of keeping my followers engaged. I continuously try and improve my skills by learning new editing and photography styles. I am far from where I want to be but I am definitely enjoying the journey.

Wilderness

Body confidence is something a lot of us struggle with. This is no surprise when the media is constantly portraying their version of the ideal body image. This then causes many to strive for these body types. Sometimes to extreme measures which lead to mental health issues such as eating disorders.

It is important to remember that another persons beauty can never take away from your own. We are all uniquely shaped and that is something I appreciate. I mean, imagine living in a world of clones, no variety. How boring would that be?

There is no issue with wanting to improve your physical appearance, in fact I would always encourage people to attain the best body they can naturally achieve, I feel this is all part of self love. If you love yourself you would look after yourself to the best of your ability. This includes frequently exercising, eating well, using the right products on your skin and so on.

Learn to love the shape you have been blessed with , not every body shape is naturally attainable so work with what you have, someone out there probably wants what you have as much as you what what they have. It is such an endless cycle. If only we can all learn how to admire without desiring, a lot more of us would be happier.

I too sometimes struggle with my body image. Sometimes I would like to be really skinny, sometimes I would like to be more curvy in the right places and it all stems from comparing myself to all these models and celebrities. A lot of them have actually had a lot of surgery which doesn't bother me at all but what does annoy me is when they pretend their body is all natural and it results from the gym causing so many to try and work toward something that can only be attained via surgery.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy these endless photos of me. I uploaded a lot because I am beautiful, I look amazing (i'm clearly feeling myself) and I am not sorry about that!

ps. There is a direct link to the lingerie at the bottom of the post <3

White Linen playsuit

Tuesday, 25 July 2017

This was such a fun shoot! I'm sure you can tell from my laughter. It was shot at probably my most visited location in London, Oxford street. Just across the road from one of my favourite stores, Urban Outfitters.

So this is such a relaxed look, this linen jumpsuit is everything, such a good choice of material for the summer too as it is lightweight and it is also porous, allowing heat to escape. I wish I had the link to them for you guys but unfortunately it is nowhere to be found. On the bright side, I have linked a similar jumpsuit which is actually on my wish list at the moment!

Red denim

This is such a cute laid back look. It screams COMFORTABLE, and comfortable I was. I really love this red denim skirt, its oversized pockets as well as the white stitching around it drew me to this style. It comes in several different colours, which can be found through the links below. This cropped cami top is also a great grab at only £14. It is so easy to style, I've been wearing the life out of it lately haha.

So I have photobombed you guys (sorry not sorry). I really loved this shoot and struggled to pick photos to share so I though I would share a lot more than usual. Let me know your thoughts!

Rose tinted glasses

All this baby pink is making me feel like a baby girl, I love it! This outfit gives me such a vintage vibes and the images make me happy. So what I am wearing is all from the Urban Outfitters BDG Denim collection. I love that their denim range is very comfortable and they have a few colours in their collection that aren't your usual. This is important to me because I don't know about you guys but its nice to own a unique style of jeans, I find that they usually stand out more.

Also, the BDG range have a few slogan tees with the theme of female empowerment which really stands out to me. As you can see, I am wearing one of them and mine says " ABCDEFEMME ". It is stocked in two different colours which are linked below. I have also linked everything I am wearing as well as similar styles. Let me know your thoughts guys!

Gingham Frill Off the Shoulder Top

It must be obvious that gingham is probably my favourite trend this summer and on that note... This gingham frill off the shoulder top is now only £4! Such a bargain for such a statement top. In my opinion, this top is a must have because of its versatility. It can be worn casually or dressed up.

In the photos below, I have gone for a smart casual look, as I was attending a drink launch event and wanted to look cute but still be comfortable. Let me know your thoughts guys!

Woman Empowered

Tuesday, 11 July 2017

Be empowered and empower others. It is always nice to see women especially uplifting each other. Us women have had to work 10 times as hard to get to as far as men, a lot of progress in terms of gender equality has definitely taken place within the last 100 years, but come on, are you telling me it has taken that long for change to happen and we are nowhere next done yet? Crazy right?

For this reason I find it really important for us women to support each other. I mean if we can't even come together to support each other how are we then supposed to form a united front? I mean after all together we are stronger!

Here are few things I do to empower those around me everyday:

Links of London

Thursday, 29 June 2017

For those of you that don't know, Links of London is a jewellery brand founded in 1990 but later acquired by Folli Follie (a global jewellery group) in 2006 so the brand is pretty accessible worldwide.

In a recent collaboration with links of London, I absolutely love my sweetie bracelet. To me what separates it from your average bracelet is the ability to personalise it which makes it more special. I use Jewellery to accessorise my outfits and the fact that I am able to add charms which have personal meaning to me adds sentimental value to the jewellery. So far I have two charms on my bracelet, a globe charm and a compass charm. I am very passionate about both. To me they both somehow symbolise my love for travelling in exploring the world. The compass charm also symbolises me being a free spirit, I feel i'm the kind of person who just goes with the flow and sees what direction fate wants to take me.

What I look for in jewellery is a piece that is versatile, I see jewellery as an investment and after spending all that money you want to be able to wear it with pretty much anything right? I don't know about you guys but I do! My sweetie bracelet is just that. As well as being worn on its own, it is perfect for stacking. I have worn my bracelet with my watches, rings and other bracelets for a more modernised feel. As I was able to accessorise it with charms of both silver and gold, I feel this made the bracelet a lot more transferable as I am able to mix it in with both plain gold or plain silver jewellery styles.

Below is how I have styled my sweetie bracelet. Let me know your thoughts!

Sunshine Yellow

Wednesday, 21 June 2017

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far! I was absolutely boiling, and little could be done to ease my discomfort. The only thing I could do was stay hydrated. Its such a pity that although when I would get hold of cold water it would turn warm within a few minutes.

Despite the weather bothering me, I actually had a lovely day. I spent it with my friend jannine, we shot our outfits then headed of to a NastyGal event hosted at WAH nails in Soho. I really liked the NastyGal collection and would definitely love to own some of the pieces.

We then went on to get our nails done, which was very well needed in my case. I usually paint my own nails or at least I try but they obviously don't come out that great. They always seems to look as though they are turning out well until I have to do my right hand, so I think in my case it is best to leave it to the professionals.

Anyways, enough of my ranting, I hope you like my outfit pictures, My sandals have now gone on sale, I am a bit annoyed because I only got them last week but I guess it's good news if any of you guys like it. Let me know you thoughts!

p.s : Everything is linked below :)

Blush Pink Dress

I feel summer is definitely bringing out my feminine side a lot more. If you haven't noticed I've even started wearing earrings! (my mum would be proud haha). This look had me feeling like cinderella in my glass sandals from WindsorSmith. I hope you like it just as much as I do.

Orange Jumpsuit

I often find that I am too hard on myself sometimes and it is definitely a downfall of mine. I find myself being over-critical about the work I create and this consequently leads me to feel as though it isn't good enough. So even after investing a lot of time to create the content many go unpublished. This bad habit of mine needs to stop. This is one of the main reasons I haven't managed to be consistent but the best way to tackle an problem is to identify the issue so you can solve it.

I think this mindset forms from comparing your work or yourself to others. The only person you should be competing with is yourself. Instead of comparing your work to other peoples why not compare your work to that of yours from a few months or a year ago? That way you many actually realise you are actually being harsh on yourself and start to appreciate your progress, relax and enjoy your journey and continue to watch yourself blossom.

Yellow Gingham

Tuesday, 16 May 2017

Now that my exams are over I am quite excited to be able to work on my blog full time for the next few months until it is time for my final year. This academic year has been pretty intense so I am really looking forward to having a long period of personal time which I intended to enjoy to the fullest.

So this look was shot quite a while ago now (pre-exams), I just never got round to publishing it but better late than never! I have a couple back dated looks to share now that I have free time so I will be posting them in the mean time until I am able to create now content.

You Go Girl!

Wednesday, 8 March 2017

I couldn't resist this empowering t-shirt I came across the other day, it made me think about just how amazing it is to be a woman. Us women are such gems, we need to stick together and uplift each other. United we are stronger, divided we are defeated. That is why the message on the top resonated with me "You go girl!". Support and encouragement is such an important thing to have, it is only human to go through low periods in life but a great support system around you will definitely help you bounce back faster. Support is not gender specific but I do feel like women are a lot more emotional which is a blessing because we tend to be more compassionate and empathetic so I believe the ability to comfort comes more naturally.

I would like you guys to let me know your favourite thing about being a woman in the comments - mine is the ability to be able to carry and birth life, what is yours?

On that note, happy international women's day!

Denim flares

Thursday, 23 February 2017

My obsession with all things flared continues. I am now the proud owner of frill hem flare jeans and I plan to expand my collection. I decided to pair the jeans with this off shoulder top from Nobody's child which I decided to wear as a sleeveless top. I hope you guys like the combination! Let me know your thoughts!

Fros and Frills

Saturday, 4 February 2017

There is something about nature that humbles me. So many beautiful things are on this Earth, I'm happy to be able to exist and experience it. Shooting at this location made me want to travel. I want to go to other countries, preferably tropical countries so I can bask my melanin skin in the sun and where my fro out freely without worries of the cold damaging my strands and of course enjoy more natural surrounds. I've recently even started strongly considering moving away from London when I finish my studies.

Pink stripes

Wednesday, 1 February 2017

Sucker for tops with frills at the moment! They just have this chicness to them. This shirt definitely made me feel extra girly with the colour, I'm not usually a pink wearer, I never really thought it looked great on me but I love trying new things when it comes to fashion, it keeps things fresh and interesting.
